TRINITY COLLEGE DUBLIN- Global Mobility Officer

The Global Mobility Officer, Inbound will join the Partnerships and Global Mobility Team. They will work within the wider Trinity Global Office on strengthening and developing Trinity’s position as a leading provider of international education.

The Global Mobility Officer, Inbound will act as an important interface between the University and key stakeholders. This Officer will also liaise closely with relevant offices within the University including:

Internally

• Vice President for Global Engagement

• Global Mobility Manager

• International Partnerships Manager

• Wider Global Mobility Team

• Colleagues in the Academic Registry

• Academic and administrative colleagues in Schools and Departments across the University

Externally

• University partners

• Other educational stakeholders

• Government agencies, funding bodies, and other international organisations

Main Responsibilities

• Supporting all cohorts of inbound visiting students at all points of the cycle.

• Engaging in 1-1 student advising for inbound students including in person office hours in the Global Mobility Hub.

• Organising and delivering information sessions to students considering and/or confirmed to join Trinity on study abroad/international exchange/Erasmus.

• Engaging with internal stakeholders at Trinity relevant to coordinating the inbound programme, including Academic Registry, Schools/Departments, the International Student Experience Team, the Accommodation Office and the Transition to Trinity Officer to ensure all students have the same quality of experience.

• Promoting Trinity to study abroad partners/programme providers, international exchange partners and Erasmus partners and prospective students.

• Preparing promotional material including updates to the global mobility website, the study abroad guide, university partner fact sheets, social media and other material as needed in collaboration with the Trinity Marketing team.

• Acting as a primary point of contact for partner universities and provider programmes that send their students to Trinity, nurturing and developing Trinity’s study abroad partnerships.

• Maintaining an accurate and up to date central record of student mobility data for communication and reporting purposes and analysing such data.

• Collaborating with other offices across Trinity, including with the Academic Registry and Schools/Departments on data management.

• Report writing, including supporting the Global Mobility Manger in drafting regular reports on Erasmus activity and the annual Global Mobility report.

• Supporting with projects to improve processes for inbound study abroad students to Trinity.

• Support the annual process of balancing student exchange numbers in collaboration with university partners.

• Regularly coordinating visits to Trinity from external partners such as university partners representatives, study abroad advisors, representatives of other relevant external organisations.

• Representing Trinity at in person and online events including but not limited to: inbound visiting student orientations, webinars, student events and partner meetings.

• Occasionally representing Trinity at events/conferences overseas.

• Developing the strongest possible relationships, based on trust and reliability, with all relevant external and internal stakeholders.

• Keeping up to date with and implementing where possible, best practice in supporting inbound visiting students.

• Supporting other staff members as necessary and undertake other duties as may be required by the Global Mobility Manager and Associate Director – Partnerships & Global Mobility and/or the Vice President for Global Engagement and/or their nominees.

Person Requirements

The role-holder will have the below detailed qualifications, knowledge and experience, skills and personal attributes needed for successful performance in the role.

Qualifications

• A third level degree in a relevant discipline or relevant professional experience

Knowledge and Experience

• Previous experience [minimum 2x years] in international higher education and direct experience of providing support for students on inbound study abroad/international exchange/Erasmus programmes.

• Strong communication and presentation skills, proven experience in student advising.

• Proven experience in relationship management.

• Project management experience (small – medium scale projects).

• Familiarity with curriculum structures and national and international quality standards in higher education.

• Previous experience of intercultural communications in a professional environment.

• An ability and willingness to operate with flexibility as part of a team in a fast-paced working environment.
